Session 6

Concepts for this All Zones Session

Using the Missouri Framework and a CBL/RWL mind-set, participants will:

  • Make connections to RWL examples shared from last session

  • Identify key elements of the Demonstration Project

  • Examine the role of assessment as it pertains to both teaching and learning, as well as monitoring the effectiveness of instruction.

6.1: Recapping Learning from Real World Learning Sessions

Participants shared their district and school experiences connected to the previous Real World Learning sessions. Several districts shared ideas on how to move this work forward.

6.2: Demonstration Project

Hear the latest update on progress being made by SDZ Cohort 1 as they design an alternative approach to the Annual Performance Report. The districts leading this work are proposing a different view of “growth” which promotes learner understanding of where they currently are and where they need to grow. Learner agency is a key component of the alternative model.
