4.3 How does Career Technical Education (CTE) Connect to the Success-Ready Students Network?

Do not miss this engaging Career and Technical Education (CTE) panel discussion, moderated by Dr. Travis Plume, Assistant Commissioner at DESE. State CTE leaders highlighted current opportunities for districts and shared exemplary Real World Learning (RWL) initiatives from various CTE programs. The discussion emphasized the alignment of CTE with the goals of the Success-Ready Students Network.

A second panel featured CTE and Innovation School leaders from the Kansas City region, who discussed their collaborative experiences with the Real World Learning initiative, offering insights into impactful partnerships and innovative approaches in education.

Panelists included: Roger Barnes, DESE CTE Coordinator, Lori Brown, DESE CTE Coordinator, Martin Hanley, Director, Lewis & Clark ACC, Gage Tiller, Director Carthage Technical Center, Cheryl Reichert, Director Herndon Career Center, Jeremy Bonnesen–Director/Principal–Summit Technology Academy, and Corey Devaull, Assistant Director Career & Technology Center at Fort Osage School District.
