During the beginning of the first Monthly Learning session of the 2024-25 school year, SRSN Facilitators explained the current work of the SDZ 1 Districts, unpacking the three elements of the Alternative APR. This segment explained how the SDZ districts are using a Continuous Improvement Framework, New Performance Indicators, and Local Dashboards, SRSN Landing Page to demonstrate continuous improvement.

In this session, SRSN participants discussed innovative strategies for implementing integrated real-world learning, paying close attention to RWL at the middle school level. Tom Vander Ark, with Getting Smart shared approaches tailored to diverse school environments across urban, rural, and suburban regions. Tom shared several great examples of what this learning looks like in schools across the nation.

Julie Moore, from Liberty Public Schools shared some excellent resources used in that district as they expanded RWL at the Middle School level.
