All three of the SRSN Innovation Zones come together the second Wednesday of each month to engage in using a personalized competency-based mindset to support learning design. A key feature of these sessions centers around assessment for learning and reimagining a state-wide assessment/accountability system. Participants engage with national and state experts, and share insights about their own practices. Many of the videos and resources provided are excellent tools for building and district leaders striving to create quality professional learning experiences.

Examine the role of assessment as it pertains to both teaching and learning, as well as monitoring the effectiveness of instruction.

Understand latest work connected to the SRSN demonstration project, both connected to state and federal waiver.
Learn from other SRSN districts across the state about their current PCBL practice.
Using the Missouri Framework and a CBL/RWL mind-set, participants will:
Identify key elements of the Demonstration Project and status of Federal Waiver
Gain insight on how educators can collaboratively Gain Clarity by developing competencies, learning intentions and success criteria.
Discuss how sharing Clarity with students empowers them to take greater ownership of learning and explain what success looks like.
Determine ideas for how to assess and provide feedback with Clarity that engage students in making their learning visible on a regular basis, elevating progress over performance and establishing a need for feedback and revision of work.
Discuss students can develop and evaluate a body of evidence that reflects their learning and is aligned to the learning intentions and success criteria in order to Prove their Learning.

Understand the status of the CGSA Grant and how it is a key component of Planning for the the Federal Innovative Assessment Demonstration Authority
Understand the DESE MAP related request for SDZ districts
Discover the development and design of system-wide standards-based rubrics that meet rigorous teaching and learning expectations as well as the core elements of assessment design and deployment within the classroom. (MO Framework CBL Elements to be discussed: 2. Assessment is a meaningful, positive, and empowering learning experience for students that yields timely, relevant, and actionable evidence)
